Fugitive arrested weeks after escaping police custody at Nashville hospital

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted on more than two dozen charges has been taken into custody weeks after he ran from an officer who was escorting him from Nashville General Hospital, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 20-year-old Marcus Stanton was arrested on Nov. 18, 2025, following an extensive investigation into his “involvement in criminal activity.”

However, before being booked, Stanton allegedly told officers that he had ingested fentanyl, which led him to be taken to Nashville General Hospital for treatment. Stanton was handcuffed at the hospital, but later managed to run away from an officer while being escorted to a patrol car, police said.
