MNPD: Teen arrested in connection with ongoing fraud investigation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teen was arrested Tuesday in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation being conducted by the Metro Nashville Police Department. According to the MNPD, the department’s fraud unit is investigating groups of young people conducting banking scams.

Police said the MNPD’s violent crimes division detectives arrested 19-year-old Dewaine Gordon Tuesday for outstanding warrants connected to two recent incidents, but he’s also suspected of being involved in several other cases.

Authorities were able to identify Gordon from surveillance footage after a man had his wallet stolen in September 2025. That man’s credit card was then used on three occasions in two Opry Mills stores, according to the MNPD.

Police said fraud unit detectives were able to obtain additional warrants for Gordon after he was identified as one of six men who approached a man on Dec. 2, 2025, at an East Nashville bar to see if he could follow them on Instagram…
