Nashville on High Alert as Suspected Repeat Offenders Nabbed for Vehicle Burglary and Weapons Charges

Two incidents of crime shook Nashville this week, with both involving allegations of vehicle burglary and more serious offenses. In the first case, a man was approached by officers on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after he was discovered sleeping in his Tesla, which had been unlawfully entered. Stanton had previously fled in a stolen vehicle and was armed, leading officers on a chase before constructing a makeshift barrier to evade capture. Police found not just the stolen vehicle but also a stolen AR-15 lower receiver, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Stanton’s escape took a turn when, after being hospitalized for fentanyl consumption, he fled from custody while handcuffed. Despite an official pursuit, he evaded recapture. According to authorities, Stanton’s criminal record since November 2023 includes several charges, and his cases were last settled on August 28, leading to a three-year probation sentence. His current list of charges now expands to include escape, vehicle theft, firearm theft, and more. An escape warrant has been issued for Stanton…
