Woman accused of attacking East Nashville store clerk with bear spray

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman was taken into custody after allegedly spraying an employee at an East Nashville vape store with bear mace during a robbery earlier this week.

According to an affidavit, officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department’s East Precinct responded to the incident at Vape Cave Smoke Shop in the 3200 block of Gallatin Pike shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5.

After speaking with the victim and reviewing surveillance footage, officials said they determined 20-year-old Crystal Clark and five other people — at least four of whom were later identified as juveniles — entered the store, with some examining various items inside.

A few minutes later, Clark and one of the minors reportedly approached the register, where the juvenile picked up a jar of merchandise to smell it. Then, Clark reached into the girl’s purse, pulled out a bear mace canister, and sprayed the clerk in the face, per the court document…
