NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – For dozens of bands, The End has been the beginning.
“A lot of people tell me that this is the CBGBs of the South,” said bartender, booking agent, janitor and owner of The End Bruce Fitzpatrick. “A lot of bands started here. Paramore started here. We did the White Stripes first time in Nashville. Now we’ve done Slater-Kinney. Tim McGraw did a show here, and a lot of new upcoming local, regional and national bands start out playing here.”
The walls behind the bar are covered in hundreds of staples. Fitzpatrick says they represent 40 years worth of posters for bands playing at the iconic “Rock Block” venue, and for the last 27 years, he has booked them all…
