Delivery driver charged after allegedly hitting traffic controller with car, attacking her at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A woman was arrested after she allegedly struck a traffic control officer with her car and then attacked her on the campus of Vanderbilt University on Tuesday morning.

According to an arrest affidavit, 35-year-old Brandi Helton was working as a delivery driver for Amazon when a Metro Transportation Management officer instructed her to stop on Garland Avenue due to ongoing construction in the area.

Helton reportedly became impatient after a few minutes and drove through the intersection at 24th Avenue South, despite the control officer’s commands to stop, according to the affidavit…
