Metro Nashville councilmember suing developer millions for defamation, loss of sleep

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Metro Nashville Council Member Joy Kimbrough is suing developer Ryan Moses for defamation and health effects after Moses filed an ethics complaint Kimbrough was eventually cleared from.

Documents obtained by FOX 17 News show Kimbrough is seeking $40 million for libelous statements from Moses and health reasons, such as a lack of sleep through the ethics complaint process.

Moses, CEO of Best Brands Inc., a wine and spirits distribution company, claimed Kimbrough demanded money for a rezoning change in Bordeaux, Kimbrough’s district. Kimbrough denies this…
