Man offering helping hand shot by teen selling candy in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A 16-year-old boy who was selling candy outside of a Kroger store has been charged with aggravated robbery after police say he shot and robbed his 62-year-old customer.

Metro Nashville Police said the incident happened Dec. 2 at a Kroger in Germantown. As Jaylen Fitzgerald, 16, was selling candy to the man in the parking lot, the teen reportedly asked for a ride. The man agreed because it was cold, according to police.

As the teen was getting out of the car, he allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded cash and medication, police said. When the man tried to push the teen out of his car, he was shot in the stomach…
