NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nearly 17 months after a deadly shooting occurred in South Nashville, a man was taken into custody for multiple charges, including murder.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers responded to the area of Hart Street and Creek Street on Aug. 26, 2024, after getting a call about a body in a nearby alley. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot before seeing a man leaving the scene on a moped.

Authorities said the victim, 41-year-old Christopher Walter, was found with a gunshot wound to the torso, so first responders tried to perform CPR, but he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Law enforcement said Walter, who stayed in an encampment on Creek Street, had been accused of taking another man’s moped.
