A Navy fighter jet crashed into a South Nashville home 30 years ago

Ada Newsom doddled around her Luna Drive home taking a slower start to her day Jan. 29, 1996.

While she got ready to take her husband Elmer to the doctor, an appointment for which she took the day off work, he chatted with Ewing “Tommy” Wair. The former police officer had stopped by the Luna Drive home that day to check on the tractor he left with Elmer for repair.
