NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The former owner of Plaza Mariachi has been sentenced to serve time in prison months after he was found guilty of multiple federal fraud charges, officials announced Friday.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, Mark Janbakhsh, 51, of Brentwood, was sentenced to 42 months in prison on Thursday, Jan. 29. In August 2025, he was convicted of multiple charges including, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, making false statements to a bank, bankruptcy fraud and making a false statement under oath.

From 2013 to 2017, Mark, who is also the former chief executive officer and majority owner of Auto Masters in Nashville, reportedly conspired with his 46-year-old brother, Ron Janbakhsh, and other co-conspirators to submit false documentation to Capitol One to “artificially inflate the value of the company’s collateral,” which would allow Mark to draw on lines of credit he was not entitled to take.
