NES to re-evaluate tree trimming, look at burying powerlines after winter storm impact

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville Electric Service CEO Teresa Broyles-Aplin said the power company is re-evaluating its tree trimming efforts and studying what it would cost to bury powerlines after the deadly winter storm left more than 230,000 of its customers without power.

“We are determined to learn and improve for future storm response,” Broyles-Aplin said. “We want to get an independent review of the entire storm response to ensure that we know where the gaps are and we know how to how to improve and be the best that we can be for you.”

Friday night, NES announced it had reached “full restoration” after getting power back on for 99.9% of its customers…
