NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A North Nashville family lost their home to a fire that started minutes after power was restored following a seven-day outage.
The Washington family home, where Rickey Washington’s parents have lived since 1973, appeared well-maintained from the outside, but the interior was destroyed by flames.
“It’s really hard because this is their whole livelihood. Now, it’s gone. It’s gone,” Washington said. “Their memories, all their memories, all the old paperwork. My mom, because she was a teacher, she used to keep some of the paperwork, you know, and stuff like that. That’s all gone. Those memories are gone.”…
