NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Clarice Phelps describes nuclear chemistry a little differently than most people would.
“I got it relatively quickly, and it was easy, and I liked it, and it just kind of made sense,” Phelps said.
Phelps, an engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, works with radioactive material daily, furthering understanding of the world around us. She is best known for helping discover a periodic element, but her story started in Nashville’s Edgehill neighborhood…
