NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Another piece of the overhaul of Nashville’s East Bank is one step closer to becoming a reality, after the Metro Planning Commission approved a rezoning request on first reading.
The East Bend development is comprised of the former site of PSC Metals, a scrap yard next to Nissan Stadium. As part of the redevelopment of the East Bank, the site will be transformed from an eyesore to a community space.

Metro Councilmember Jacob Kupin told News 2 it’s a generational project for Nashville, turning the lot into a brand new neighborhood. He said the vision is to have plenty of green space, access to the Cumberland River, and amenities for residents and visitors, not just another Broadway.
Thursday night, Feb. 12, the planning commission approved the rezoning on first reading, paving the way for a vote from the Metro Council on second reading. That reading will also include a public hearing before a third and final reading with Council.
