RiverGate Mall has closed its doors after being in business for over fifty years. Situated in Goodlettsville, its history dates back to 1971. Multiple reasons led to a slow customer footfall, gradually impacting the retail industry in the region.

RiverGate Mall Closed Permanently in Goodlettsville

RiverGate Mall, located at 1000 Rivergate Pkwy, Goodlettsville, was a hub for locals of Goodlettsville, Madison, and other parts of North Nashville. Over its 54-year history, the mall hosted national chains, local shops, restaurants, and service providers. These stores drew steady crowds, making the mall a central social and commercial gathering spot.

Brands like JCPenney, Foot Locker, Guitar Center, and more attracted shopaholics for years. However, changing consumer patterns, the emergence of online shopping, and newer shopping centers reduced occupancy and visitor numbers.

There was an increase in the number of stores that were closed, and huge areas of the interior mall were empty. As the property finally had to stop its operations, by the beginning of 2026, only a few tenants were left. WKRN reported that the mall had finally closed on February 13…
