NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Fairgrounds Nashville lost more than $100,000 while keeping people safe and warm during last month’s winter storm, an employee said during a Tuesday morning meeting.
The Fairgrounds in Music City canceled events and housed residents in the immediate aftermath of the weather event. The historic ice storm killed more than two dozen people in Tennessee, caused hundreds of thousands of outages in the Nashville area and plunged Music City into weather that felt sub-zero.
During a preliminary report at a Tuesday morning meeting, Finance and Administrative Manager Satrice Allen said that the grounds are expecting to lose about $123,000 in revenue due to cancelations during that time period…
