Man out on bond arrested after driving recklessly in East Nashville, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man out on bond was arrested Monday night after he was reportedly driving recklessly in the James Cayce Homes area while in possession of marijuana and a handgun, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

MNPD officials said detectives with the department’s TITANS unit spotted 21-year-old Abdalla Abdikadir recklessly driving a GMC Terrain SUV in the area of South 6th Street and stopped the vehicle.

According to the MNPD, detectives found Abdikadir to have 158 grams of marijuana and a handgun.

Police said Abdikadir was out on bond for an October 2024 arrest in which he was arrested for eight vehicle burglaries, vehicle theft, two firearm thefts, felony marijuana possession and evading arrest. His bond was set at $47,500 for that arrest. Last September, Abdikadir was arrested for evading arrest, and his bond was set at $5,000, officials said.

Most recently, Abdikadir was arrested on Feb. 6 for felony marijuana possession and gun possession during the commission of a dangerous felony. His bond was set at $15,000, according to the MNPD.
