EAST NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 1920s home in the Lockland Springs historic area was illegally torn down, according to Metro Codes. Now, many are left wondering if the property owner from California will face penalties.
“It was just like, you know, stopping by a friend’s house and flipping through vinyl,” said Jesse Cartwright, owner of The Groove records shop.

An East Nashville gathering spot for music, movies, and local shopping, The Groove was approaching 20 years of business at its Calvin Avenue location.
“We did enjoy the atmosphere and the things that we were able to do here because we did get to do a lot of stuff,” Cartwright said. “We had Sierra Ferrell; she had her first album release party here, where she sang in the backyard, and then she hung out with us afterwards, and we just chatted, and we would have Americana Fest, where Yola performed once or twice.”…
