Woman charged after violent attack on juvenile aboard Nashville school bus

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Surveillance video captured a woman entering a school bus full of children and reportedly assaulting a juvenile, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Jan. 12, 2025, the Metro Nashville Police Department reported that 36-year-old Shanita James entered a Metro Nashville Public School bus at 196 Charles E. Davis Blvd.

According to the affidavit, two juveniles were fighting with another juvenile. Surveillance footage showed James entering the bus. The affidavit said the bus driver tried to stop her, telling her she was not allowed on the bus, but she reportedly pushed past him and proceeded down the bus aisle…
