JOELTON, Tenn. (WSMV) – An oryx, an antelope native to Africa, was spotted near Old Marrowbone Road in Joelton earlier this week after it darted into morning traffic. It is not clear whether the animal has since been found.
Lance Carter said he was driving to work in the early morning hours when he had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting the animal.
“It was on the right side of the road sticking out of the woods — was the back end of an animal, at the time I thought was a really big goat,” Carter said. “But I didn’t know what it was. I’ve never seen anything like it before.”…
