Beauty Box Nashville: The Salon Offering Hair, Lashes and Therapy

Walking into Beauty Box Nashville is the treat you didn’t know you needed. From the laid back vibes, great playlist always on rotation, to of course the cute hairstyles you are guaranteed to see and receive. This is all the vision of Rachel Faye, owner and head stylist of the popular salon in the heart of North Nashville. In an era of “50 eleven rules”, deposit first, come with your hair washed, to a lack of focus on maintaining your natural hair, the art of being a true hairstylist is being lost. This is why Rachel and Beauty Box Nashville are so unique – they are not losing the “old school” salon recipe. From your traditional shampoo and wash, silk press to extensions, color and protective styles, your natural hair can be laid, dyed, and put to the side at her salon. Rachel is all about keeping the traditional salon feel while staying modern and on trend for each of her clients at Beauty Box Nashville.

As a Nashville native, Rachel grew up playing in her hair as a little girl. A thing many of us can relate to as hair is a resounding pillar within our community. The salon is where you go to feel your best, try something new, or a safe space to share the happy and wild moments in this thing called life. As Rachel shares, “we offer everything from hair, lashes, skincare, and therapy.” Finding community in the salon is still happening, and Rachel provides a safe space for all of her clients. That is no small feat in the age of social media, where many are just doing it for the “gram”. She wants you to come as your whole self and help you leave even better.

Being a hairstylist was always something she was passionate about. Like many stylists, Rachel started doing hair out of her parents’ home and at her clients’ homes. It was when she got her first salon suite that the vision for opening her own full-service salon was planted. A one-stop shop for women in Nashville. She stayed in her salon suites for 4 years and then took the leap to launch Beauty Box Nashville in 2022. She went on this journey with her sister by her side.

It has been perfect. My sister is such a great asset to my life and in the business, in ways that I didn’t even know at first. I’m a workaholic and can forget about the small things. She’s like, did you do this, reminding me of emails to taking calls when needed,” shares Rachel.

Through launching her salon in Nashville, Rachel kept her focus. She knew this was the natural next step and jumped into it with her quiet, confident spirit. Branching out on her own was something that came naturally for Rachel. She always had that entrepreneur mindset and gleaned a lot of insight while working in other salons and having her own suite. Rachel reflects, “It came natural. Then, with the help of my clients who have always been supportive and just following me along the way.” Jane Jackson, one of her clients (in the shop when we were there), was diagnosed with cancer. shared how Rachel has been there to take care of her hair through all stages, “She has adapted to my hair from bald to hair down my back, she does my hair.”

During our chat, we also touched on where she felt hairstyles would be trending this year. As you look through the latest magazine or scroll your timeline, hair is always a hot topic with screenshotting and sharing the look you are hoping to achieve when you sit down in the chair. “Definitely the updos, ponytails, the messy looks, bangs, and color. Also, the different styles based on fashion will play a huge role this year. So just making sure I stay on top of the trends and being able to achieve the looks that clients come in wanting is important.” Rachel explains…
