Squirrel caused power outage that impacted thousands in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Thousands of people in one area of Nashville were without power on Monday morning — all because of a squirrel.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Nashville Electric Service’s outage map showed that more than 3,600 people in Nashville’s Germantown were without power. When WSMV reached out to NES about the outage, they said that it was due to a rodent.

“The crew found that a squirrel had tripped the breaker,” NES said…
