Police arrest three people during street racing initiative in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — Three men were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend as part of the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Street Racer Initiative in Davidson County.

According to police, officers first observed a white Infiniti traveling more than 90 mph in a 40-mph zone on Bell Road while appearing to race a black sedan. Officers deployed spike strips near Reynolds Road and Smith Springs Road, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a ditch.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Jason Linares, and three passengers ran from the vehicle but were later detained at a nearby apartment complex…
