Family of 16-year-old killed in Antioch High School shooting receives $300K settlement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The family of the 16-year-old student who was killed in a shooting at Antioch High School last year has received a settlement from the Nashville government.

According to court records, Josselin Corea Escalante’s family received $300,000 on Monday.

They had sued Metro Nashville Public Schools and the Metro Nashville Government for Corea Escalante’s death, arguing that the district should have known that the gunman had a history of violent activity and that more should have been done to protect students…
