The alleged theft of equipment from a Hendersonville Home Depot has landed a pair of individuals in police custody.
According to court records, Airyel Nycol Garner, 23, of Hermitage, rented a Toro skid steer and trailer valued at over $72,000 on April 1, 2025, from the Hendersonville Home Depot location for a two-day period. After the equipment was not returned, Garner was contacted by police and reportedly admitted keeping the equipment past the scheduled return date. Garner reportedly claimed the equipment had gone missing and she had not reported the loss to police or Home Depot out of fear of being held liable.
Court records indicated the equipment was recovered in December 2025 in Kankakee County, Ill., by agents of an auto theft task force. The person in possession of the equipment reportedly provided law enforcement with documentation that the equipment had been purchased for $10,000 in April 2025 from Facebook Marketplace. Investigators learned the Facebook account used to arrange the sale belonged to Rontarius Rishard Pinkerton, 25, of Nashville, who police say is Garner’s boyfriend and the father of her child.
