Nashville TSA Employee Sounds Alarm as Agents Enter Month Two Without Pay

Earlier this month, a team from the Second Harvest Food Bank set up at the Nashville International Airport to distribute more than 300 food boxes containing around two weeks worth of food. The recipients were Nashville-based employees of the Transportation Security Administration and their families.

The airport security officers who run BNA’s security lines checking baggage and passengers have been working without pay since the beginning of a partial federal government shutdown more than a month ago. The lapse in funding for the Department of Homeland Security is the result of a stalemate between President Donald Trump’s Republican allies in Congress and Democrats, who have demanded restrictions on the conduct of federal immigration agents.
