Community-built benches removed in downtown Nashville, sparking questions and conversation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A grassroots effort to bring more seating to downtown Nashville is now raising new questions after several community-built benches were recently removed.

The project, known as “A Bench for Everyone,” started after concerns over a previous decision to remove benches along Korean Veterans Boulevard. Councilmember Jacob Kupin says that decision—and how it happened—sparked frustration and ultimately inspired action from the community.
