Correctional officer hospitalized after inmate attack in Nashville, arrest papers say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Nashville correctional officer was sent to the hospital earlier this month after she was allegedly attacked by an inmate.

Arrest papers say that Joel Fahir, 35, left his cell “without authorization,” walked up to the officer and began to punch her with fists on her head and face, causing her to fall to the ground.

Police papers say the officer required hospitalization after the attack, which left her with a concussion and bruising on her face, nose and ribs…
