Metro Police, Mayor Renew Push for License Plate Readers as Crime Drops in Nashville

Metro Police and Mayor Freddie O’Connell are renewing their push for license plate readers (LPRs) as they highlight a decrease in crime during the first quarter of the year.

Several cities surrounding Nashville already use the technology cameras designed to help police identify and track down vehicles connected to crimes. They’re so common that once you leave Nashville city limits, you may pass one without even realizing it.
