Metro Nashville Police say crime is down in most categories after first few months of 2026

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department said the crime is trending down in most categories after the first quarter of 2026, continuing the trend from 2025.

MNPD reports that crime is down in these categories:

  • Homicides – down 20%
  • Aggravated assault – down 19.5%
  • Property crime – down 20.4%
  • Violent crime – down 18.6%
  • Robbery – down 33.2%
  • Auto theft – down 39.9%
