5 injured after semi rear-ends pickup truck on I-24 in Joelton, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Several people, including children, were injured after a crash in the Joelton area overnight.

The crash reportedly occurred just before 3 a.m. Monday on I-24 West near mile marker 33, which is approximately two miles past the Joelton exit.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said a semi truck rear ended a pickup truck, causing the pickup to overturn. The pickup truck driver was trapped inside the vehicle, but was eventually freed by first responders.

Officials at the scene told News 2 four minors and two adults were taken to the hospital. However, Metro police later said five people, including two 7-year-olds, had non-critical injuries…
