MNPD: Two indicted in connection with deadly December 2024 shooting along I-24W

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two men have been indicted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened along Interstate 24 West in December 2024.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the indictments were the result of an ongoing investigation into the shooting death of 20-year-old De’Angelo Black. Black was the passenger of a Saturn Ion sedan that was “fired on by another vehicle” near the Silliman Evans Bridge on Dec. 8, 2024.

An investigation led by Homicide Detective Unit Miranda Vaughan reportedly revealed the shooting happened after those in the Ion were involved in a dispute with people in a separate vehicle while at a North Nashville gas station. Those in the Ion reportedly told police the other car followed them onto the interstate where shots were fired as they entered I-24W from Interstate 40. Only Black was struck by gunfire.

Black was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries and pronounced dead, the MNPD said in a Dec. 9, 2024 press release…
