NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The last few days have been very stormy and wet. From Monday night through the early hours of Wednesday morning, a ton of beneficial rain fell on Middle Tennessee.
The two-day rain totals from April 28 and April 29 surpassed 3″ in parts of the midstate. The heaviest rain fell along and south of Interstate 40.
News 2 Meteorologist Alex Libby asked News 2 viewers on social media how much rain they got in their rain gauges, and the highest totals were seen in the Nashville area and down in Columbia.
This rainfall was extremely beneficial for the severe and extreme drought that is impacting all of Middle Tennessee.
The drought monitor updates on April 30, but there likely won’t be much improvement because the rainfall data used to update it doesn’t include all the rain we just saw. The May 7 update is when we will likely see the great improvements…
