Nashville sees drop in overdose deaths as Narcan access expands

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — There has been a decrease in overdose deaths in Davidson County, but experts say there is an increase in overdose emergency room visits.

Deadly overdoses in Davidson County decreased by 35% so far in 2026.

“That’s very good news,” Metro Public Health Department Communications Director Matthew Peters said. “Overdose fatalities peaked around 2023, and we’ve seen it start to come down.”…
