Alabama’s Female Artist of the Year Skylar Wallace crosses paths with longtime Nashville singer/songwriter and award-winner Robert Abernathy.
Robert Abernathy had played solo for years, during which time Skylar Wallace started her own music career. Then one night in 2024 they shared a gig that just felt “right.” A duo was born: Rob-Sky and the Anthem embarked on a year-long residency across Nashville’s famed Broadway music scene. Now in 2026 they’re riding the wave of their debut full-length album “Boots on Fire.”
“The process of piecing this project together was a culmination of several years of songwriting and narrowing down specific songs that suited Skylar’s voice and mine,” Abernathy explains. They set out to write and record an album that showcased their strengths and covered the full gamut, lyrically. “We wanted a diverse album. There are songs about break-ups, hurting.
