The repaving efforts seen on Sanders Ferry Road over the past few weeks are a part of a series of ongoing and planned improvement projects for that roadway, Hendersonville city officials say.
Hendersonville Mayor Jamie Clary said that ideally, the repaving project on Sanders Ferry Road and the Walton Ferry, Old Shackle Island Road and West Main Street realignment projects would have been done at separate times.
“But we didn’t have the luxury of waiting to repave Sanders Ferry for another year,” Clary said. “The alignment project is on schedule to be finished in May 2027. We had a couple of unsafe situations with our pavement on Sanders Ferry, where the edge of the road was sort of flaking off, so we needed to remedy that sooner rather than later.”…
