Brentwood launches new guidelines for e-bikes across city parks

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Some cities in Williamson County have cracked down on e-bike safety.

Brentwood city leaders have a new “Safely Share the Paths” campaign, which puts restrictions on Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes across the city’s parks.

The campaign is in response to a new state law that gives local governments more power in regulating e-bikes in their communities. Under the new rules, only Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are allowed on parks and trails, and there’s a speed limit of only 15 miles per hour. More powerful Class 3 e-bikes, ATVs, golf carts and motorcycles are banned from trails…
