Ometeo Coming To Peabody Union In Nashville

Top Chef winner Gabe Erales is bringing his Tex-Mex heavyweight Ometeo to Nashville, landing at Peabody Union on the city’s South Bank. Partners say the restaurant will combine a live-fire kitchen and scratch-made tortillas with a sprawling outdoor bar that looks straight out over the Cumberland River, right next to Ascend Amphitheatre. Opening details are still under wraps, with the team saying they will share timing in the months ahead.

From Tysons To Nashville

Ometeo first debuted in Tysons, Virginia, where Erales and Long Shot Hospitality opened a large, seafood-forward Tex-Mex spot that leans hard on in-house masa and playful, over-the-top dishes, as reported by Eater DC. The Tysons menu leans on Gulf ingredients and big-format plates, from a molino program for masa to a foot-long “quesadilla machete” and hefty fajitas. Owners say that the same spirit will guide the Nashville menu, which will be tailored to Tennessee ingredients.

What To Expect At Peabody Union

In Nashville, the team plans to center live-fire cooking, a chef-driven fajita program, and a scratch heirloom corn and flour tortilla program while keeping signature dishes like Matamoros tacos, beef rib with ayocotes, and chile colorado enchiladas, according to Nashville Lifestyles. Grizform Design Architects has crafted an interior that moves guests from a tile-and-iron entry into a vaulted bar and then out to a river-facing patio bar. “We’re excited to bring Ometeo to Nashville, offering a take on Tex-Mex that respects its roots,” partner Jeremy Carman told the magazine.
