NOPD detectives reveal Algiers kidnapping was falsely reported

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department released new information in connection with an alleged kidnapping incident in Algiers.

The incident reportedly happened on May 19 near the corner of Farragut and Lawrence streets.

The juvenile victim told NOPD officers that they were walking in the area when they were approached by two men and forced into a vehicle. They claimed to have escaped by breaking a window and running away.
