NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are on the scene of a murder and attempted suicide in Elmwood, Thursday, May 28.
Around 10 a.m., JPSO officers responded to the 5100 block of Citrus Boulevard, where they found a woman in an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

During a search of the surrounding area, the suspect was found in a vehicle suffering from what deputies say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in the Home Depot parking lot.
The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he is listed to be in critical condition.
The cause of the incident is unknown at this time as it remains under investigation…
