HICKMAN COUNTY, Ky. — A shelter-in-place order was issued briefly on Sunday, May 31, after a Canadian National Railway train derailed between the towns of Arlington and Clinton in Hickman County.
According to KFVS-TV, the derailment was reported about 10:15 p.m. and involved two locomotives and approximately 29 cars, according to the Hickman County Emergency Management Agency. Two of the cars involved were carrying hazardous materials, leading to the shelter-in-place order, but it was lifted when it was determined the cars did not pose a threat to public safety.
