One person arrested following drug bust in Louisiana

LOUISIANA — A New Orleans man is facing multiple drug and firearm charges after a traffic stop in New Orleans East led to the discovery of suspected narcotics, firearms and explosive materials, according to Louisiana State Police.

State police said James Thomas, 41, was stopped on Lincoln Beach Boulevard near Lamb Road after troopers observed a vehicle displaying an expired registration sticker.

During the investigation, troopers conducted a search of Thomas and his vehicle. Authorities said they recovered a firearm and $849 in cash from Thomas. Troopers also found six half-sticks of suspected dynamite, suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, dextroamphetamine pills, amphetamine pills, morphine pills and items commonly associated with narcotics distribution…
