NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A person was killed in a car crash in New Orleans East Saturday, June 13.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, around 4:00 p.m. authorities were notified of a vehicle fire on North Interstate 510 near the intersection with Interstate 10. A body was discovered in the driver’s seat.

NOPD officials said investigators determined that the driver was headed north on I-510 when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and caught on fire. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
