NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Vibrant and vivacious New Orleans street entertainer George Vermong, who was known as “Ashley T. Traffic,” could be seen for years on Bourbon Street and St. Ann Street directing traffic with a whistle.
Do you remember ‘Ruthie the Duck Girl’ who used to wander the French Quarter streets?
Vermong was known for the catchphrase, “Wooo, child,” as cars would drive by.
Vermong passed away in early June.
