Thousands pack Uncle Sam Jam for 250th Independence Day celebration

METAIRIE (WVUE) – It was Fourth of July eve, but in Jefferson Parish, thousands partied at Lafreniere Park for the 31st Uncle Sam Jam, the parish’s premier Independence Day celebration.

The festival typically draws families from across the New Orleans metro area eager to kick off the holiday a day early with food, music and a massive fireworks show to end the night.
