Summer storms continue this weekend but it won’t be a washout

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A typical July weather pattern will remain in place across southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi through the end of the workweek and into the weekend. Expect hot and humid afternoons with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms developing each day, especially during the late morning to mid afternoon hours.

High temperatures will generally reach the lower 90s, while heat index values climb into the triple digits outside of any rain.

The daily storm pattern will continue to be driven by sea breeze boundaries and leftover outflow boundaries from earlier thunderstorms. While widespread severe weather is not expected, a few storms could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall…
