43-year-old man to serve life sentence for fentanyl overdose murder

FRANKLINTON, La. (WGNO) — A 43-year-old Angie man was sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in a fentanyl overdose death, District Attorney Collin Sims announced.

Last month, Derrick Fairley was convicted on charges of second-degree murder and possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl.

This case stemmed from the fatal overdose death of 34-year-old Roxanne Fortenberry on Dec. 15, 2024.
