New Orleans’ French Quarter gets its first-ever marijuana dispensary. ‘I’m speechless.’

A brass band, feathered showgirls and brightly beaded Mardi Gras Indians brought the party to Bourbon Street on Wednesday morning, but it wasn’t for a wedding or a bachelor party — or anything to do with boozing on New Orleans’ most popular path for partygoers.

The French Quarter’s first-ever cannabis dispensary opened its doors to customers in a 100-year-old building at 433 Bourbon St., offering three stories of edibles, vapes, cannabis flower as well as features like a third-floor gallery, theater experience and terpene smell bar.

Unlike traditional dispensaries in other states, Louisiana law allows both locals and out-of-state visitors to meet with a telehealth clinician on-site and, if approved, purchase medical cannabis that day.
