When Julie and Michael Green bought a midcentury modern home in West Lakeview in 2022, they became the second owners. The home was built in 1964 on one-third of an acre by Judge Louis DiRosa and Lesley Broussard DiRosa.
“We really wanted to honor the home and the family that built it and lived here before us,” said Julie Green, a New Orleans native and commercial real estate agent. She shares the home with her husband, Michael Green, an engineering consultant, and their two children, both students at Benjamin Franklin High School.
“The home was so personalized,” she said. “Mrs. DiRosa was a seamstress. She sewed every pair of curtains in the house by hand, which, though outdated, had really withstood time. I am a sentimental person. I wanted to retain some of these elements.”…
